  3.  @74oshua  I guarantee you that it is true. If they send the right signal to your phone and you have a working battery in it, it will turn on. The thing is, they can do it without your screen turning on. As for a source, do you think I have a death wish?

  4.  @CharlieTheAstronaut  Twenty years ago? Oh yeah, even then. The three letter agencies have been on the inside since the beginning. They just didn't always have the processing power or storage capacity to keep everything back then. Now they keep literally everything and can easily process it all.

  6. @ That's not how the storage of a phone works. It's basically flash memory. It can retain information for years without power. If you pull the main battery of a phone out and wait for a few minutes it definitely can not turn on, for now. Of course, with a more modern phone you won't be pulling that battery with any degree of ease.
