I wonder how feasible it would be to send a probe to the surface of the planet. For that matter, I wonder how long it would take to get it there. We should definitely do that.

@Mr.Plant_man As far as I can see there are no probes that have landed on Mercury. All three of the prior missions merely orbited or flew by.

@Mr.Plant_man Yeah, Venus is a pretty harsh planet. The Russians have landed a lot of probes there, and I think we've landed one or two, but long-term exploration is beyond our tech, for now.
