I've probably been using Linux for as long as you've been alive, and for the first half of my time with it I used xterm and had minimal complaints. A long time back I switched over to using konsole and the only changes I made from stock configuration is to drop all of the window decoration nonsense and to change the default color scheme. I can use my mouse in vim, even scroll vim, less and man pages. Copying as pasting is easier and it's faster than my eyes can see. I don't understand why so many people complain about their terminals. Either they've not used konsole or they're doing something weird with different shells and blaming the terminal emulator for something it had nothing to do with.
