And here I am wishing that more apps would target native hardware. Is it too much to ask for a bytecode format that generates a native binary and gets cached and is specifically specified by a specification that specifies all of these details leaving no surprises? I would even accept a generic implementation as a VM for those platforms that don't have a native generator. Something like the JVM but without a single language attached to it, nor way of operating, and an intense focus on generating native binaries.
