  4.  @stevemarsh2152  Think about it like this, you have a gun, not even necessarily used, just in a holster or in your pants pocket, you cross the street and the light turns before you hit the other side. The cops, following their directives, and knowing that you possess said gun arrest you for jaywalking and then red flag you and take all of your guns away. It's not hypothetical either because people in states with heavy D populations and red flag laws have done similar without a crime even being committed. Just a relative phones up and says they're worried, and bam, cops take all of their guns and they're on a list preventing them from buying more ever again.
