I don't know, Rachel Dolezal would beg to differ on the ability to choose one's race. As for sexuality, what are genderfluid people anyway if not people who change their sexuality on a whim. I still say that no one is born any which way, with regards to sexuality, and it's all a matter of choice, but I'm likely part of a small group in that area.

Exactly. It's the people that just want to cash in on a lucrative field but have no skills of their own. It's also partly a Harrison Bergeron Syndrome because if every developer uses Rust and is an awful developer, then they win.

You're half right. The KKK aren't a far right group and were started by Demonrats that were dissatisfied that their free labor force was taken away by Lincoln. I would use the correct word there, but YouTube deletes my posts when I do. It's weird because leftists use that word all the time, but maybe they have different rules if you're on a list of people they hate.

But if you restrict who can use your code then it's not open source. If you want to restrict who can use it, why even distribute the source at all?
2
@rollinkendal8130 That's actually why I don't think of GPL code as open source, because it restricts you. Truly open source should be MIT or BSD or any other non-restrictive license. Again, if you want to restrict who uses your code, why distribute source at all?

Personally, I'd rather there weren't any Python groups. Why can't we push more people towards good languages like C.
2
That's because they're just intelligent enough to know not to say precisely what they mean, which is to exclude all straight, white males. It makes them more difficult to sue and next to impossible to catch in a lie because they don't lie with their mouths, but rather their actions.

@rancidbeef582 That's probably why those on the left keep saying it, because they know that if they say it we won't do it, but they will, and it'll enable them to push us all into camps before they get rid of us once and for all. When the left tells us what they're doing by accusing us of doing it as they do it, we really should believe them and start doing it so they don't eradicate us.

@Leonidas04052 Then you still don't get what's happening.

The quotes make me wonder, whose definition are you using?
1
@zwerko That's a lot of assumptions I'm going to ignore rather than take offense at, but I've often found myself with a stronger grip on reality than most people. I also seem to know myself as a person better than other people know themselves. You probably don't have children and/or don't remember your childhood and wouldn't understand this, but children are little sponges. They absorb all the information you give them, whether you realize you're giving it to them or not, and it's not always you giving them this information, especially if you foolishly let them watch TV.
1
@rollinkendal8130 But you're still not answering. Why distribute your source at all if you want to restrict its usage?
1
@rollinkendal8130 So who makes the cut?
1
@rollinkendal8130 That would be weird, although I wouldn't call it open source. But realistically, who makes your list of authorized users?
1
@rollinkendal8130 Well, to be clear, I meant your restriction on people born on a leap year. That is indeed weird, but also it would be bigotry against a person who can't control when they were born. But in reality for your real projects, who would you actually not want using your code?
1
@rollinkendal8130 So you'd say the same if someone was to deny service to someone for being black or Jewish? Or do you wish to use the dictionary and the correct definition and actually answer the question I asked, which is, who would you deny usage of your software?
1
I still don't know why people don't just keep using it as long as it works, because it's not as if they get any money from you using it. Although, that said, I definitely think that we need to find alternatives that aren't Chromium with modifications.

This planet could literally support trillions of humans. We're nowhere near "soon" with regards to space, despite what the leftist city-dwellers would have us believe.
