@bakters You have far too much hope for me to agree, but I wish I could share in that optimism. I've seen enough of history to know that things are leading down a very dark path that it's likely humanity will not come back from, but we most assuredly won't even if they do.

@bakters The printing press was a technological advancement that caused change. We haven't had such an event to cause this change. What's happening now has been going on since before I was born, it's just that it has been accelerating for the past 20 or 30 years. As far as I can tell, people have only recently been waking up to reality. Scant few believed the warnings, but the slippery slope is indeed real.

Let's put it this way, 40 years ago the majority of people hired were on merit. Not all, and no one would claim all, and he's not claiming all, but the majority. Now it's very few that are hired on merit because of quotas, which are themselves racist and sexist. Given that your post is edited I can't be sure if you meant "their" when referring to the community's repugnant ideologies or if you actually meant to call someone else's ideologies repugnant, but he's certainly not defending any repugnant ideologies. If you wish to make another edit and further clarify what you mean, make sure to respond to this and inform me of said edit.

@ShaneBro Plenty of mentally ill people really believe that their delusions are real, it doesn't make them so. In the past psychologists actually knew better than to play along because if you disabused someone of their delusions it was the first step to getting them healthy. Toxic ideology has infected the entire field and corrupted it in current times.
