I was really hoping this was going to be some kind of microkernel project. I get the arguments against, and it would require a complete redesign if Linux were to go that route, which obviously means it won't and shouldn't, but I still say a microkernel is the better way. Context switching is a problem currently, but need not be even on current hardware. Of course if new hardware were designed that would be optimal, but that won't happen either. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that current hardware and software has the wrong design. It works, and it's "Good Enough™" but it could still be better.
