@quazar-omega Yeah, same. It's just weird to me to hear people talk at normal speed.

@Neucher Yeah, 2x gang. I had been watching everything at 1.75x but I've been running out of time to do things so now it's 2x.

@kendarr One last tip if you use gparted, you can actually pass it the disk you want to work with and it'll only see that one disk. You can even pass it from the run dialog if you don't start it from the terminal.

I think it's a good idea to provide a GUI installer. It wouldn't add too much to use dwm and some really cut down web browser. While elinks was my favorite and I used that for about a decade, it doesn't work with most websites anymore, but it might work with the Arch documentation. Although, if a GUI one is really needed, Konqueror would be a fine choice. You don't even need to have KDE installed, just a few bits here and there and Qt.

Slackware is pretty much the same way. Used up three TTY's installing it this last time. Played a game on one while it installed, had documentation open on the third.

Never use dd. You could try rsync, but it's massive and might be overwhelming. You could also just use cp -a, but if you don't want to do it from the terminal, plug in an external drive and open up your file browser and just highlight your home folder and right click, select copy, navigate to the external drive and right click and paste. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

@kendarr You can use lsblk from the terminal to see what disk is what. Do a ctrl+alt+f[1-4] to get to an alternate TTY when doing an installation. You could even try it now, either from a terminal window or a TTY. If you use a TTY, just look up which TTY the GUI is on before you do so or hit ctrl+alt+f[1-12] until you find it.
