There's a joke in there somewhere about his brain showing static because of the lag in releasing Jai.

Totally understandable. In an embedded environment you also have less storage to play with and slower CPU's as well as less RAM. The fewer lines of code you have to run, the faster your OS will run.

@donaldmickunas8552 Yay for Slackware! Been using it for decades. My turn from Windows was actually because of XP. The activation garbage pushed me hard because most of what I used a computer for was offline, and because I didn't have a lot of money back then I had already been using open source software a lot on my Win98 box. I found Linux to be more fun to program for as well and way more feature filled. Being able to mount and edit disk images and playing around with Bochs was a huge part of the pull as well. Eventually I'll get around to writing my own OS, someday.

@Doctor_Glados Error: Can't assign to an r-value, missing semi-colon.

@terrydaktyllus1320 Well, there are 10's of thousands of streamers and quite a few make millions a year. Though I would argue doing that takes the fun out of playing a game. I do so to relax and have fun. If I streamed my game time I'd stress when playing and that would defeat the purpose for me.

@JoshDoingLinux The inhumanity of it. For shame.

Are those drivers needed for a USB floppy drive? How about a USB CD/DVD burner? No problems with either USB variants or built-ins for me on Linux, but who's accusing Linux of bloat over Windows? No one, that's who. So if Linux can have drivers for all of those variations and still have a smaller footprint, how can those be your examples of things that bloat Windows.

@schemage2210 Never going to happen. I've filled my system with every package that came with the install disc and loaded it with tons more, and while the space used is more than a base install of Windows, it won't grow further unless I want it to and it's still less than Windows after several updates. And it still runs better than Windows because very few of the packages I've downloaded run in the background. Except for a few things, everything I've installed myself runs only when I tell it to. It'll never get as bloated as Windows despite having more packages installed.

@schemage2210 Except that code that doesn't get used only takes up disk space, not processor time, and really not even much disk space on Linux systems. With nearly everyone having gobs of space these days, and those on older systems having the choice to pare, that bloat doesn't affect developers and only marginally affects users. In other words, it's not as big of an issue as you think it is.

Debloating my system? No need, I've got 128gb allocated for it and I'm only using 33. That said, the process of doing it can be fun. Of course my /home drive is 1tb and I'm running out of space. I guess I'm too much of a data hoarder, but I really want to change. Just need the right motivation.

What about Tuxracer? Tell me you didn't delete that too?!?
