  1. I've personally never done that, and every time I see a guide which tells me to I download the script first and check out what it does. I have an advantage over your average user though, since I also program. As far as deleting stuff, I'd say the home folder would be worse than the system. At worst in the system area I've got configuration files that would be annoying to remake. In the home folder I've got all of my stuff, things that you can't just recreate. Backups are key, but who backs up their 80gb of norp?
