  1. That's an excellent point. If you want enhanced security, but the only way is through Microsoft, you're SOL. Also increases the startup effort and likely cost of those that want to create a new third party OS. It's a shame the US government doesn't prosecute monopolies anymore. It's like they've given up on antitrust law.

  2. I'm guessing that you don't believe it, or maybe you just prefer to stay positive even in the face of overwhelming evidence, but we have two E's already and I think the third may be coming up. As for them getting their stuff to work better, yeah, they don't care. If they get the third E they'll be more than happy to just use garbage as they have been for decades. My hope for the future is that a more open hardware platform rises from the ashes and actually gives people the computing utopia they were promised but never received.
