  3.  @svenkarlsen2702  Even spinning disk drives wear out from usage. It's kind of a horrifying thought. What's worse is they can fail from a lack of use too, not refreshing the data and all.

  5.  @svenkarlsen2702  YES! The magnetic coating will stop being usable after a number of years. It may have a longer lifespan than an SSD and the number of writes is in no way exact, it will wear out after enough writes as well as with mere time because magnetism wears off. On top of that, as stated, the data needs to be refreshed from time to time otherwise it'll rot away while the drive is still usable.
