@nils.offermann What happens when FlatHub gets political? Let's say they opt to follow laws from a certain country and restrict any application that allows you to download porn or hentai?

@nils.offermann Not really. If the situation were no different then there'd be no reason for centralization in the first place. Of course, past that it also makes it less likely that the numpties that use Windows will ever adopt Linux. Not that anyone here will care, and I'm sure some would desire the opposite, but the more people using it the more money that developers will get and the more time they can work on it and make it better.

@thingsiplay My experiences with GIMP are that it's interface is a little wonky, but I still love it. I use it every day and have even changed shortcuts to be more efficient with my usage. I've aimed for making every shortcut on the left side of the keyboard so I can use the mouse and keyboard evenly without moving positions. Drawing quick straight lines is super easy too because I can hit shift to connect two points and ctrl to keep them at known angles. Shift while scrolling to navigate the window horizontally. I don't even know if Photoshop can do those things now but the last time I used it it could not.

@nils.offermann Except that with FlatHub any switching would be harder because there would be more data to copy between sources as well as since they'd be centralized it would affect even more distributions. Also, taking a stance against proprietary, closed source software isn't comparable in this situation as they're open source platforms and it makes perfect sense, as well as it's the moral choice. For that matter they make it easy to include them anyway. I guess people will just roll over and accept it though because they certainly have with GitHub and everything else Microsoft owns. If people didn't want to be enslaved they wouldn't keep falling into these traps, would they. It always starts off innocent, then devolves and people defend it to their death.

I only watched the first 50 seconds, so the land is that way. Obviously you didn't change that message.

@leoschafer5172 Try it now then. After all it's free and it won't delete whatever you're using.
