  1. All of this is completely irrelevant. If you live in a country that has either or both of eminent domain or property taxes, then you don't own your own home period. If the government can tell you what to do with your own property when you're not harming others with it, then you don't actually own it. Private ownership is a human right and people need to fight this hard and reform the government, by force if necessary, but through changing the legislation if possible.

  2. Whoever made the decision at the power company to keep the power on during that time belongs in prison for gross criminal negligence. The guy who ran emergency management also needs to be in prison for gross criminal negligence. They're all guilty of manslaughter for however many the final count ends up being. Even just a handful would be bad, but it's already over 100 and they haven't stopped counting. They should be in prison for the rest of their lives for how many they've allowed to die with their negligence.
