My take on this, either greed or stupidity is behind the suit, maybe even both. If they were hoping to squash even a fraction of the AR-15 market, then not only is it stupid, but evil. I honestly don't see a fix for the system we have because it depends on having intelligent and moral arbiters in place to push back against frivolity. Given that a vast quantity of our judges are merely appointed by the "king"/president, when an evil one is in charge we have an increase of immoral and unintelligent judges getting appointed.

@levergatRapha You make no sense. Are you claiming that religion is the cause of all bizarre behavior? If so, you're dramatically wrong, as are any would-be historians that claim that. Evil people have used religion as an excuse for their bad behavior for millennia and very very few of them have actually be religious. They were merely power hungry tyrants who wanted what didn't belong to them and used whatever means they could to get it, even if that meant faking being religious.
