  1. This has been my question too for the longest time. Figured it would be because they're cheap, was not disappointed. Stamped sheet metal is already cheap, wouldn't be difficult to just take a sheet and press a bunch of circular pieces out, use one or two at a point where a pin is needed and then use friction stir welding to allow that chunk to be used for a captive pin. But time is money, extra materials are money, more wear on your tooling is money and manufacturers are cheap. Makes me want to start a gun manufacturing company.
