Yeah, that's the attitude to have. Been using it for around 25 years now and it's nice that finally people are wising up to Microsoft and Apple's evil and moving towards a platform which allows them to do what they want with their own devices.

Why would you want to save Windows? It's always been garbage and that it's getting worse and more people are jumping ship is a good thing, but sadly they're mostly morons that go towards shiny gadgets that don't allow you to really use your hardware. What's worse though, is the push towards ARM chips which are legitimately inferior to x86 chips in every way except power use. Of course power use matters for portable applications, but I spend my day at a desktop that I expect to be responsive, and the more I have to wait on something to finish loading or for source to compile, the longer I'll be using the computer for and thus eliminating any power savings. Ultimately, I wish more people, but especially YouTubers, would promote Linux and at the very least try to push people towards the superior platform.

I hate Windows, and I'll never buy an XBox myself, but to call it a failure is to lie. They still make billions of dollars selling the consoles and billions more selling the games.

@MrBahjatt I think you're reading the wrong things into their actions. It's not that they don't care about Windows, because they likely never did, but rather it was a means to an end. Basically it's a solved problem at this point as Windows has the majority of the market share on desktops and has had for at least 30 years now. The government, whose job it is to breakup monopolies, has basically given them a free pass, and they can do whatever they want and have the money and freedom from governmental interference to do so.

@MrBahjatt At this point I'm not really sure what you're trying to say. They don't need to do R&D because it's already been done. The Windows Phone failed because it sucked and people already had alternatives that were better. People look at the two devices, a phone versus a computer, as completely opposite paradigms, even if they're both computers, just that one has peripherals built-in for phone functionality. People who game will always need the niche OS for gaming that is Windows, and people who know nothing about computers will always use it due to both the monopoly forcing it on them with pre-builts and their inability to change things. If Microsoft ever decides to pivot their business model, they'll succeed at that as with everything else because of their monopoly. As it stands now, they make a boatload from games, and that device is still a computer and still runs a version of Windows. Like I said, a means to an end.
