  1. You and Ana are both only partially correct. Where I live I see massive quantities of apartment complexes going up. For miles in every direction, rental units with no option to buy them. However, that's not all that's going up, and I also see massive quantities of subdivisions with 100's if not 1000's of houses all for sale. The problem is quite obviously not supply and demand, it's supply that people want. I want to live by a beach, but there's nothing in my price range. I'm sure there's a lot of people like that everywhere because I see houses on the market for years that no one buys. Hell, I've got empty houses around me in the same neighborhood that have been unoccupied for 5 or so years. That doesn't happen when there's no supply nor demand.
