The IQ gap between black and white Americans has been decreasing every decade. On top of that, there is a major difference between the IQ of black Americans and their ancestors in Africa (Liberia) because of socioeconomic factors. This is just confirmation bias on ur part to reject iq results in the 1900 but to believe in “less or more obvious methods of measuring cognitive abilities like average 🧠 volume” because u have this preconceived notion that “the average general intelligence was likely higher in the 1900s”. Not only have u not provided sufficient evidence of this claim, but if that was the case, u have just proven that the average general intelligence is not that important for economic development because the US is more developed today when compared to the 1900s. In other words, GDP per capita is unrelated to average general intelligence. If u are going to deny the Flynn effect, u might as well deny the iq test altogether.

  9. @ The amount of aid given to Africa is nothing compared to the amount of money taken out of Africa (in the form of a trade imbalance). Most of that aid goes to African governments, who make sure multinational corporations have access to African resources for cheap prices. Japan became a developed nation because of the Meiji restoration, which happened because of Japan’s interaction with the West. Without western assistance, Japan would have remained, an isolated, technologically backwards civilization. European colonizers took many natural resources from Africa and used free African labor in their American colonies. Most of the trade was only limited to the coastline and was not beneficial for the African continent.

  11. @ Right, and I’m trying to explain to you that extractive institutions (which the Spanish implemented across Latin America) is the reason why u have many corrupt leaders in the first place (when compared to the US or Canada). Can there be multiple kings of the hill? Or does certain regions of the world have to remain undeveloped or semi-developed in order for 1st world countries to remain economically dominant? Are u aware that 1st world countries depend on 3rd world countries for cheap resources, cheap labor, usage of their currency ect… I want u to understand that rich countries (just like rich ppl) use a variety of methods (like geopolitics) to maintain their 1st world status at the expense of others because I’m not sure there is enough resources available for all countries to be 1st world countries.

  13. @ But Western Europe were able to compensate for their lack of resources by colonialism and now neocolonialism. China is slowing down and they are still far behind western countries in terms of gdp per capita and resource consumption per capita. Well my point is there is a fixed amount of land available for agriculture, just like there is a fixed amount of resources available in general, so I’m just doubtful whether they are enough resources available for every country to become developed.

U have given no evidence that it is an IQ difference nor have u addressed the comment I made about IQ differences. First u said it was because of culture and now u say it is because of IQ. Even the genetic differences that u observe between humans can be explained by environmental factors so i just don’t understand why u want to deny it?

  15.  @JAtwater  Africa does not have plenty of coasts, navigable rivers or extensive arable farm land when compared to its land area and to other continents (especially compared to Eurasia). Hence why Afghanistan is a more accurate comparison to Africa.

If u aren’t certain about ur iq score, how can u be certain about the average iq of billions of people u have never met? Africa’s average iq is low because of malaria and other diseases, malnutrition ect… I would also argue that knowledge is more important than IQ, which is why investing in education is very important in Africa (which lags behind the rest of world in literacy rates). Even from a genetic perspective, what are u going to propose to fix Africa’s problems? Eugenics?

Mansa Musa's caravan was made up of 60,000 men, including his royal court, soldiers, merchants, and 12,000 enslaved people. The caravan carried 100 camels, each carrying 300 pounds of gold. The caravan also included a mobile mosque so that Mansa Musa could pray.

Because Europe had a good geography/climate/livestock ect… and access to the technological advantage happening in the rest of Asia. The aboriginals actually had to learn to develop in Australia and clearly they didn’t do so well, proving my point about the importance of geography.

Africa has the least amount of shoreline length per land area compared to any other continent (Africa 4.07, Antarctica 6.53, Asia 13.32, South America 14.1, Oceania 22.55, North America 36.1, Europe 38.22) and this is very important because “Adam Smith, the father of modern economics, argued that access to water reduced the cost of trade, and gave merchants access to larger markets. These larger markets incentivized specialization and innovation.”

  22. @ It’s harder to develop landlocked countries, especially if they are in landlocked regions. Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Bolivia, Russia ect… all have a similar development to their region. Some regions are just more landlocked than others (like sub Saharan Africa). Russia, Kazakhstan, Switzerland were all connected by the Silk Road.

  27. @ And this video explained how geography caused Africa to be more isolated compared to other regions of the world, so I don’t know why u are trying to change the conversation into something else. NK was only doing slightly better than SK because it was in a better condition after the Korean War. May I remind u that NK invests a disproportionate amount of their resources into the military and still needed Russian/Chinese military assistance in developing their military technology. NK and SK were founded on different institutions, hence why they developed different results over time.

Europeans basically had a massive advantage in civilization building because of their much favorable geography.

If the Europeans were always the stronger, smarter or better people, why weren’t they colonizing before the 15th century? Ultimately, u want us to forget about history, even though history can tell us why certain countries are more advanced than others (like north and South Korea). Events in the past have a profound effect on the future, therefore it cannot forgotten (especially when it was never corrected). How can u even fix the country’s of today without acknowledging the geographical and socioeconomic problems ur country faces today?
