  1. I've read that purple is the best color choice for the birds, but yes, it seems that not painting them the color of clouds makes them more noticable to birds. It seems obvious in hindsight, really.

  2. Non-white paint seems to solve the problem for birds. Maybe a whistle mechanism above the range of human hearing attached to the blades would help bats?

  3. Mine was a van my family got. If you ever turned on the air, while it wasn't the as overpowering as some people's stories, the only way I can describe it is getting a whiff of concentrated death. Not even pungent rot: it just smelled like death itself, nothing more, nothing less. We didn't keep it long enough to find out why.

  4. The neutrons are the least of your concerns. The mechanisms needed to achieve pressurized containment (and then actually harness energy practically) will always be big. It doesn't really matter though. Once you have fusion, you can do things like synthesize hydrocarbon fuels at will to power portable generators for off-grid power generation needs.
