An authoritarian corporatist praising the dictator of a state-capitalist nation? The only surprise I can muster is that of being shocked he would take the mask off and admit the truth.

Yeah well, as China has proven, corporatism and state capitalism are actually adjacent political systems...tankies are just too dumb to understand this obvious fact, but what do you expect from people who think creating a ruling class in a totalitarian state brings you closer to actual communism?
6
@28604 yeah, but Tankies aren't really anti-imperialist. They just don't like US imperialism.

@BenSalernoMedia which is a near total overlap with "libertarians" going "look, if we just allow unchecked accumulation of private economic power, that will maximize freedom" The "best" part is both libertarians and tankies can see the obviously contradiction in the other's ideology but can't see that they have the exact same one in theirs.

Really, we're talking about the democracy of a country with 1 party and totalitarian systems that surpass what was in 1984? Are you that stupid, or that dishonest?
5
They didn't get where they are by not having an unquenchable lust for power.

Corporatist Bloomberg trying to prop up state capitalist China isn't really that strange outside of him being more honest than expected about how close the ideologies are. Just look at what he said about moving the coal plants away from the cities. A-doesn't effect carbon emissions B-doesn't have anything to do with public oppinion, only practical necessity and worker productivity Also, trying to make a totalitarian state that would shock George Orwell with the amount of control they wield over their people is pretty out there.

@kelliv2995 more like "everyone copy that shit"
3
@andygreg293 he's setting up a 3rd party run because he's hoping that will throw the election to Trump. As has been said on the show before, capital breaks fascist.
3
A-doesn't change the carbon emissions B-he's doing it to keep worker productivity up, not because he cares about his constituents. This shouldn't need said, but it does.

And he just had to throw the ageist steriotyping as the cherry on top...but then he's a boomer, so that's not surprising either.
2
@HahaDamn you think elections are anything but a formality in a totalitarian state? What a joke.

To Bloomberg, if you don't have power, you're not a real person.

@darkcrystalmagik3369 idk, he's pretty fucking ageist too, so maybe if said male journalist were a millennial. Definitely not a white male journalist his age, though.

A wealth tax that doesn't force someone like Bloomberg to liquidate assets isn't high enough. Them not having so much economic power is a huge part of the goal.
