It's a matter of perspective really. Contrary to popular belief, the kettles were not fed directly by the boilers but integrated into the condensers. Was this a matter of putting waste heat you were already trying to get rid of to excellent use, or was the entire drive system of the ship a means of extracting enough energy from superheated steam to bring it down to proper temperatures for steeping tea that moved the ship as a side-effect? The engineers claim the former but some say that was just a means to secure funding for their increasingly large tea kettles.
