@garywheeler7039 hell, given a particularly volatile air-to-fuel ratio at a given point, I wouldn't be surprised if a spark caused by dropping a steel tool the wrong way could set it off. There are tools out there that specifically avoid using steel in their to prevent the risk of those sparks you get when tiny fragments of metal break off and oxidize in the air.

@jwadaow that's what the kind of sparks steel gives off on impact or from scraping against a hard surface are. The heat from being broken off combined with the drastically changed mass to surface area enables rapid oxidation that generates enough heat for them to glow white hot. This is how flint and steel works, shaving off tiny bits of iron that then get very hot as they rapidly oxidize into iron oxide. While it takes a little encouragement from a 9-volt battery, you can also see a macro-scale example of this with people using steel wool as a firestarter.

It seems like naming destroyers after weather is just asking for miscommunication...

@algrayson8965 not true (though the small amount of carbon in the steel will burn too) https://youtu.be/Ubop-51dJjg The main factor in carbon content for sparking is just making the metal more brittle and likely to break off those sparks which (heated by the breaking) will start rapidly oxidizing (aka combusting) in the air to form iron oxide.
