Even if you personally are better off with a car (not that that's always true, as others have pointed out, or that that excludes you from also using public transit) personal vs public transit largely comes down to defecting vs cooperating in a prisoner's dilemma. Look that up if you don't know what I mean by that because prisoner's dilemmas are everywhere, but simply put, societies (and the individuals in them) are better off when the norm is mass transit instead of the norm being driving. Environmentally, economically, socially, and even just in commute times.

We have fuckall control of our healthcare under our insurance-based system and (even if we get it) often no control over what insurance we get as that's chosen by our employers who frequently change it and even if they don't pick a different insurance company as they often do, the company can and does adjust their plans. Fact is we pay about 2x as much as the average for the worst healthcare in the developed world, and even studies by far-right Republican think tanks show that M4A would save us money and American lives, but you don't give a shit about that because you're too busy licking the boots of big business to stand up for your country.
