@kayellee7202 on the contrary, a huge amount of doctors' time is wasted dealing with the bureaucratic nightmare that is our web of insurance providers, the soul-crushing reality of dealing with what amounts to for-profit death pannels causes a fair amount of dropout from the profession, and the shortage is likewise linked to how we don't treat it like a public good which leaves us not incentivising training more doctors or otherwise developing the capacity to handle the entire population. You're talking about real problems, but they're just more reasons we need to move OFF the current system, not reasons we can't. Waiting for the current system to fix these problems (which I only gave a quick overview of) will leave you waiting forever because they're intrinsic to the system.

Certain people here are making really stupid points about the healthcare system. He was having problems getting treatment after the fall of the USSR when much of the system was privatized as Russia transitioned to the oligharchy of today.

@kayellee7202 so we're going to ignore the actual information about how much time doctors waste dealing with different insurance companies and how many people working in insurance companies have medical degrees (and could be using that knowledge more productively) to focus on an anecdote about how you knew a guy who moved from practicing to training furture doctors (those people you correctly mention we're short on) and want to use that to imply that a very right wing healthcare plan (it's based on a plan cooked up by the Heritage Foundation and is basically Romneycare done at a federal level) is bad? I'll agree that I don't like the ACA (it doesn't go anywhere near far enough), but I don't get how you expect people to treat you like a serious person when you're spouting that kind of superficial, irrelevant nonsense.
