  1. I'm fairly sure if you have the right technique and design of whip it should be possible. There's no reason why the tip shouldn't be able to be made small enough to crack especially with the slower initial motion and double-handed grip allowing a human to put more energy into the chain to be concentrated as the wave travels down the length. It may take making some really strong custom chain links and you might need to make the ones designed to break the sound barrier out of titanium or something but it should be possible. No way in hell I want to be anywhere near it when it's tested unless I'm behind something bullet proof, though.
