Not only is it probably compressed into rock at this point but think of it this way: over geologic timescales dinosaur tracks are constantly being uncovered and then either re-covered or destroyed. If we lived millennia ago or millennia from now, it may have been that a different set of tracks would be the longest exposed, but at any point, SOME set of tracks would be the longest exposed. It just so happens that when we're living, it happens to be that set.
