@jandrews6254 yeah, for as fucked up as the native life on that continent is, at least you're free of rabies. Fuck anyone who threatens that silver lining.

Bats and hair can be like Velcro. Thankfully my experience with it was using heavy gloves to help untangle a bat from some of the hair in my tub, and not the stuff attached to my head, but their ability to get tangled in it is impressive.

Aerosolized even of the normal version would be terrifying. Not only would it hit every cat and rat and bat it came across, but the delivery to the eyes and mucus membranes inside the skull would rapidly accelerate (and normalize) the incubation period as it would be traveling up the optical and olfactory nerves, which means it only needs to go a couple inches rather than likely several feet from a normal bite wound so even the smaller amount of exposure could produce a fairly short incubation period and since the length of those nerves is more consistent between people, there would be a tighter clustering of the onset of symptoms.

@DVankeuren execpt multi factor analysis has been done. Britian's NHS (especially before the Tories started their privatization and austerity measures) ranked very high across the board. The US system was absolute garbage by basically every metric. Market-based healthcare is shit for a mountain of reasons that should be obvious to anyone who actually understands economics and thinks about it for a few seconds.

It is an excellent and consistent balance of the appropriate seriousness and just the right amount and type of dark humor to help get through it easier without minimizing or mocking the subject matter. With so much of the dark humor these days being, for lack of a better term, incredibly juvenile, it's always nice to see someone who still understands how to do it with skill and tact.

I'm curious about how the vaccines work and you seem like the best person to ask. To confirm, you're saying you're already vaccinated, but would have to get 2 more if you got bit? If I'm understanding that correctly, I'd assume it's one baseline vaccine to get the body to have a memory of it and then 2 more after the bite to get antibody production ramped up as quick as possible. Does that baseline one have to be renewed periodically like a tetanus shot? I'm kinda curious about pre-bite vaccinations and a medical professional who needs to be vaccinated for their job seems the best person to ask.
