It would actually cost the government less to give every homeless person a place to live than it spends dealing with the costs of homelessness (such as medical costs and the burdon on our "justice" system). Homelessness exists simply as something to threaten the working class with.

  4.  @nicwelch  "do they have a right to X?" and "does preparing to do X through Y method result in Z outcome?" are not the same question. People have a right to do all sorts of dumb, counter-productive things. Answering "yes" to the former does not mean that the answer to the latter is also "yes". Yes, people have a right to defend themselves with lethal force. No, owning a gun does not make you safer.

"Fun" fact: it would actually cost the government less to give every homeless person a place to live than it costs to deal with having homeless people around (especially in costs to our medical and "justice" systems, which the government has to pick up the tab for). Homelessness exists just as something to threaten the working class with.
