@cageybee7221 yeah, I'm really struggling to think of situations where it might be warrented. I can thing of a couple, but they're pretty extreme, rare, and contrived....and I can't say I'm sure granting the police that power is worth the risks...

@cageybee7221 yeah, I'd only even consider it with massive checks on it's use...like needing more than just a judge to sign off on it and if it goes poorly, the police chief/sheriff/etc is fired and barred from working in law enforcement again (no exceptions) and an immediate criminal investigation from a higher-authority agency (state police if county police fuck it up, FBI if the state police fuck it up) is required to be opened immediately with all records immediately turned over. In other words, maybe I'm willing to listen to an argument for NNRs if you can convince me that you're super-duper extra-sure with a cherry on top and everyone in charge, not just the people rushing in with guns drawn is willing to put their ass on the line in case they made the wrong call, even if it seemed perfectly reasonable at the time...but until that's the kind of conversation we're having, I'm pretty sure we're killing way more innocents than the tactic could possibly be saving, so I'm gonna have to go with "you've got a lot of tools at your toolbelt. Stop acting like you're itching to go larping like you're the main character in some FPS where you get to pretend you're an operator."
