If you think linking excellent, well-researched overviews of a subject in a format that the audience I am talking to obviously likes to use to learn about the broader field we're talking about (politics) is a "never do this" I'm sorry, but you're a fool and shooting yourself in the foot. Content is more important than medium, people looking for an overview aren't typically going to delve into primary/formal academic sources linked in a YouTube comment thread, and those who are ready to delve to that level obviously aren't who I was talking to. If you want to be effective in communication, political or otherwise, be mindful of your audience.
