  4.  @Rudenbehr  yeah, because the states with larger African American populations voted first before he got name recognition, Hillary's "super predators" background became widely known, people got to see how he treated black Americans, learned his record of marching with MLK, etc. Gotta pay attention to context for your numbers.

Yes, VPs are (for some reason) seen as getting more experience than other positions in our current political climate, and it's not like the VP has no influence on foreign policy by any means, even if largely unofficial power. As to him dying in office, yes, that is a concern, if for health reasons in his 2nd term if nothing else (it is a high-pressure job afterall). Having someone strong on international policy on the ticket also helps with the election. As for qualifications, who would you want as the VP and for what reasons?
