  1. Specifically quantum tunneling should be able to. Say I take a sphere of assorted atoms, arrange them in a specific way, then isolate them for eons until quantum tunneling and entropy makes them uniform in distribution of all properties. If you come to it at that point, no amount of readings you could ever take of it, no matter how perfect, will tell you what state I set it in. When you scale things to the extremes conservation of information seems to fall appart, and I haven't been able to find anything yet that makes me conclude anything but that entropy actively destroys information. (Was actually watching this on the off chance I got something new to consider in that reguard) Of course, I also think singularities turning into universes are also likely, so this big "paradox" is twice over a non-issue.
