  2. Even multiplayer games that aren't MASSIVELY multiplayer can work just fine. If it's small, little community-run servers you can even allow modding and the problem will basically be handled by the community as long as they are given the tools to ban people. It's not even the multiplayer aspect that's the biggest hurdle. It's trying to get thousands if not millions of players in what at least seems like the same multiplayer lobby/game. That's when you get all kinds of problems at massive scale and try to automate solutions in an insane arms race.
