@AngelaMay66 just raw indifference and incompetence leading them to not confirm who they were bombing before they started blowing shit up. They're giving their pilots bombing targets scribbled by hand on pieces of paper and both sides are often using similar (or the same) equipment. They're just shooting at what they're guessing might be Ukrainian soldiers without information of where their own are and are hoping they're right more often than not. Like the guy said, it's a clownshow, not a military operation. They're basically pulling a Leeroy Jenkins on the scale of an entire war. We're literally watching one of the greatest displays of military incompetence in history and they've so overcommitted that they probably don't even have the capability to properly reorganize and get their shit together.

@sergeytaranovich2368 Russia is very unlikely to use nukes unless it is invaded. Keep in mind also, that redrawing borders because of this invasion is likely to lead to further conflict down the line. One way or another, Putin won't be in power forever, and adding to seperatist violence by giving him land as an appeasement gesture isn't going to help with that. We do need to be sober, I agree. Not pushing back so hard that they get used in a panic is important, but there are other grim realities we need to be sober about for the future as well.

@LeTrashPanda friendly, if off-topic, constructive criticism: it's harder to make out what your profile pic is when the top white stripe is on a white background. Swapping the background color to something with more contrast (maybe the dark grey of YouTube's dark mode?) would make it easier to make out quickly. Agreed on the sentiment, though. The whole world (including the Russian people) would be better off without the current Russian government that flag stands for.

Seriously, not even bothering to come up with a remotely believable lie is absolutely stunning. The normal lying politician response would be to inflate the number of missiles to make it look like Ukraine had to expend a lot of their resources to do the damage or blame a mine or sabotage or something while giving a low but at least somewhat plausible casualty estimate. Going right to "there were no casualties" is just lunatic behavior.

@drinkskhalifa7153 Ukraine's biggest problem right now is that they're not under NATO protection, and Putin has just made every country in eastern Europe realize how dangerous it is to be near Russia and NOT part of NATO.

You're just an appeaser and would have opposed trying to stop Nazi Germany before things got really bad. That's why you need to completely abandon reason to argue your pro-war position and pretend others are pro-war. War exists because Putin sent people to fight. Appeasement doesn't actually stop war with fascists. It just encourages them, reinforcing the behavior and giving them more resources to fight the next war. Being pro-peace means, in part, being willing to support violent opposition to wars of aggression. That's the actual reality.
