We have conservatives in the US who believe science is important. They're called "Democrats"
218
Carlin was VERY clearly a leftist, in both the social and economic senses of the term, but I think you're overestimating the right's ability to understand comedy...and words...
143
@adamk.7177 He hated both parties because they were both far to his right.
79
If there was ever a point when the feds need to step in and take over for the local police not doing their jobs, this would be one of those instances. Instead, they're teargassing protesters in Portland and throwing them in unmarked vehicles to be taken to undisclosed locations and threatening to shoot people if they follow them. This is what fascism looks like.
72
The term is "internalized ageism"
55
@onomatopoeia162003 She's a straight-up nazi, so yes.
50
Of course Ben wants to avoid addressing the real problems at all costs. He's one of them!
39
The overwhelming majority of who conservatives call leftists are STILL far to the right of Carlin.
38
He knows his people are a bunch of manchildren in need of a surrogate father figure to cover up their daddy issues...you know, because that's what he is.
36
@johnwhite2925 got that one backwards bucko.
34
Most of the people they paint as far left are far to Carlin's right
31
@LDIndustries it's not really a thing in wolves either, at least, not in the wild. The study on wolves they're all referencing was retracted with prejudice by its author because of how basing it entirely on wolves in captivity skewed the results. They're trying to emulate frightened caged animals like it makes them tough (probably as a coping mechanism for feeling frightened and trapped in a world they don't/won't understand).
31
@doeeyes2 because they don't care at all if what they say is true. It's politically useful for them to blame weed, so they blame weed. It is that simple.
31
@RemixedVoice the most toxic community I played in was WarThunder, but I think that was largely due to the kind of audience it drew in due to subject matter (let's just say we all know a certain type of person who would really want to play German vehicles). Before I left for gameplay reasons years ago, I will say they had a decent reporting system, so due credit there.
30
@markzeflame5985 not significantly harder than making friends as an adult and mostly hard for the exact same reasons, which have nothing to do with feminism.
30
Just facts
27
Correction: they're armed children acting like they're in a zoo. Subtle but important distinction.
26
@asherif3893 mRNA vaccines are a wonder drug that have been in development for decades and have the potential to revolutionize healthcare, providing cheaper and faster vaccine development for more diseases and have even entered human trials for use as a cure for cancers. Also, the race angle is BS in this case and you know it. The first ones to get it after the volunteer-based trials were rich old white guys, so it's not relevant to this case and bringing it up in that way is only going to get more black people with a mistrust of doctors killed.
26
@TheDJMysterE especially the screwups
25
@Blah53455 ah yes, the guy defending the Nazi with whataboutism starts talking abouy "birthrights" and "globalism" as soon as their false equivalency is obliterated.
24
@2wyzegaming97 also Ben Shapiro
22
More like "Israel is just defending itself."
21
@GrannyGlass on the subject of Tim having dating problems, his choice to dress in an unattractive way that broadcasts his insecurity and immaturity is 100% relevant.
21
@themaxterz0169 maybe spend more time listening to the lefty channels you troll on and less listening to fascists like Sargon and you'd know the answer to your question is "no, antifa obviously isn't terrorism" without embarrassing yourself. The fact that you're asking that when the top sub in your list is philosophy tube speaks volumes about you, and nothing good.
20
What do you mean "kinda"? The entire economy has been being rigged against the younger generations for decades
20
"Unity"=appeasement We all know how well that worked out last century. Fuck unity. These people would send me and people I love to die in concentration/death camps. Give me justice.
19
@JLeww69 especially Ben Shapiro's desperate desire for her attention.
17
@AEIOU-v5e no, she's just a fascist (probably a Nazi) hiding behind the guise of libertarianism because it's a garbage ideology held by people usually too gullible to see through the facade. A really common fascist trick, actually.
16
@andrewkohler3707 imho, the best way to deal with the toxic attitudes we have around virginity is to, perhaps counter-intuitively, roll with the expanding of the use of the word to be something that only functions to relate a person to a specific activity/experience rather than being an encompassing characteristic of a person that one either is or isn't. Within sex this could mean something like the more used concept of "anal virginity" or any number of more niche/kinky activities, but also to things outside of sex. Never been kayaking? You still have your kayaking virginity. Expanding the concept in the dirrection it alreays seems to be slowly moving is easier than erasing the idea. It also means that everyone is both a virgin and not at the same time, just in relation to different things, and helps transport healthy attitudes toward introducing someone to a new, non-sexual activity/experience (and being the person trying the new thing) into the sexual realm.
16
@moamoa7067 a lot of federal regulations are based on the ability for the federal government to regulate interstate commerce, so unfortunately, once Texas cut its grid off from that of other states, it had a lot more leeway to make dumb choices that would get people killed.
14
@themaxterz0169 dude, you're not fooling anyone. We all know you only sub to leftist channels to troll them 😆 the fact you think you're fooling anyone is pathetic. Btw, you're not even baiting me. I'm just enjoying mocking you.
13
@CallMeAWeeb because they didn't want to follow national regulations that would require them to spend money on things like winterizing their infrastructure.
13
@thebloodredeye8553 yup, he just wants to pretend he can have a redo but have them hold the antisemitism this time.
12
Not only that, but the union rep said "no way a rational person could say they could process that and their muscle reaction would be less than 1 second" MFer, yes I can! A slow human reaction time is 0.5s. A martial artists' will be in the 0.2-0.3 range especially within their field of training. If you need more than a second to see someone raising their hands isn't holding a gun, you're unqualified to be a cop on reaction time alone.
12
@Ad3m_02 a-the Nazis learned from the US. b-Netanyahu is a fascist and has engaged in holocaust "revisionism" c-being a victim of an attrocity doesn't give you a pass to inflict it on others Do you need more reasons why your comment was dumb?
12
@professorpancakes6545 I mean that was basically the defense of that one cop that went on a killing spree lately, so that's barely an exaggeration.
11
@theburninator888 because of the fascist obsession with violent "heroism," machismo, and weaponry. For more, look up Umberto Eco's "Ur-fascism"

“You want to know what this was really all about? The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying? We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.” -John Ehrlichman, former Nixon Aide The war on drugs is doing exactly what it was intended to do.
10
Unironically, the public getting to see politicians' tells in a low stakes environment where who is lying isn't up for debate might not be a bad thing.
10
A-they are alt-right, get over it chuds. B-I think that would be rather unfun, but very interesting
10
@mattdrummond3552 even at the harshest, pointing out that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones is hardly equivalent to the body shaming from the right.
10
@ceshmate1953 I seem to have mixed up a Portland incident with a San Diego insident or it has happened in both places (there's so many incidents of the police straight-up acting like brownshirts right now that I can't keep it all straight), but here's some video evidence https://youtu.be/WzHuvYNtK6I Btw, the very next escalation step after where we are right now is openly disappearing people, breaking into houses to murder political dissidents in their sleep, and/or opening fire on crouds of protesters with live ammo.
10
@jeremyofficer5038 this is a joke, right? There are a whole bunch of antisemitic Christian Zionists (largely but not exclusively evangelical) who are pro-Zionism (and therefore "pro" Israel" because they think it's a precondition for Armageddon where every Jewish person who doesn't convert to Christianity will be slaughtered and sent to hell. Supporting Israel because one believes that it needs to be set up as a nation-sized alter for the mass sacrifice/extermination of Jewish people makes someone about as antisemitic as HITLER and that shit is not uncommon in our country.
9
@Tacos_Paco you can't really no-true-scottsman and whataboutism your way out of this after the last president was a fascist who repeatedly used Nazi symbolism and Marjorie "Jewish Space Lasers" Green was put in Congress. Also, we all know you are far right from all the fascists in your subscription list.
9
Jee, I wonder why! /S
9
@communisttrash8590 still not enough quotation marks, but it had to be cut short so the word wasn't hidden below a "read more"
8
To say nothing of the effects of overworking our medical professionals or the immunocompromised or the risks for mutations that endanger everyone...
8
Well Liberty Hangout went full Nazi, let's be clear here. I don't think Ben is big on the JQ, but he's not the "libertarian" he claims to be, that's for sure!
8
@andrewkohler3707 fair point on the better phrasing, though framing it as "shedding" instead of "loosing" could also work. Reguardless of specific phrasing though, I just want to bring some of the healthy ways we already look at introducing someone to activities that might be exciting and a bit intimidating to someone new to it into how we act and think reguarding sex. Side note, another way to push things in that dirrection besides using "virginity" in non-sexual contexts is to try and gently push the idea that the correct response to questions of virginity status (when they're to be answered at all, of course) be to reframe the answer in that way. Ex: answering a question about if oral sex counts as loosing your virginity by talking about specific types of virginity rather than the reductive yes/no.
8
@calvinmiguel4405 I have to disagree. When you know what to look for, most of our politicians are terrible liars.
