@andrewkohler3707 imho, the best way to deal with the toxic attitudes we have around virginity is to, perhaps counter-intuitively, roll with the expanding of the use of the word to be something that only functions to relate a person to a specific activity/experience rather than being an encompassing characteristic of a person that one either is or isn't. Within sex this could mean something like the more used concept of "anal virginity" or any number of more niche/kinky activities, but also to things outside of sex. Never been kayaking? You still have your kayaking virginity. Expanding the concept in the dirrection it alreays seems to be slowly moving is easier than erasing the idea. It also means that everyone is both a virgin and not at the same time, just in relation to different things, and helps transport healthy attitudes toward introducing someone to a new, non-sexual activity/experience (and being the person trying the new thing) into the sexual realm.

@andrewkohler3707 fair point on the better phrasing, though framing it as "shedding" instead of "loosing" could also work. Reguardless of specific phrasing though, I just want to bring some of the healthy ways we already look at introducing someone to activities that might be exciting and a bit intimidating to someone new to it into how we act and think reguarding sex. Side note, another way to push things in that dirrection besides using "virginity" in non-sexual contexts is to try and gently push the idea that the correct response to questions of virginity status (when they're to be answered at all, of course) be to reframe the answer in that way. Ex: answering a question about if oral sex counts as loosing your virginity by talking about specific types of virginity rather than the reductive yes/no.

@derbistheeternal2947 there really isn't. It's pretty rare dispite pornography being very widely consumed.

@misanthropicgodband6773 yup! that seems to be the best thing about loosing your virginity to most people: no longer thinking its that big a deal either way. Like your first kiss, it's probably going to be awkward and you're probably going to be bad at it and not even know what you like, much less what your partner does. A willingness to embrace and laugh at the awkwardness with your partner is a good attitude to go in with. And yes, most people, especially most women/girls, don't like much tongue.
