It's funny because they wanted race "consciousness." Even for the group they hate. They just wanted that group beaten down with guilt first. Then, their group consciousness would have them just give everything they'd achieved up. They were warned by others they really didn't want that to happen. People who understood it was through their grace alone that any other group was even allowed to enjoy the comfort they created. Now they're finding out.
