  1. I've tried to point to our previous progressive era in the US and the striking similarities. It was, like now, this weird combination of trying to move society forward while still having a prudish aura about it. For example, it was the progressives that pushed for the alcohol ban. While still pushing social justice. Not racial justice like today, but it was a rise in pitying the criminal and not caring much about the victim. We also saw mass immigration. It lasted almost as long at around 27 years vs the almost 25 it's been this time. The result of the pushback, hopefully, will be similar as it ushered in our greatest period. Edit: I'm using 2000 as the starting point because that's when it started really being seen in colleges and a lot of the writings took place. So that would be where it began. It just stayed in mostly in the more liberal colleges for awhile before it spread out.
