This is a weird new age argument I’ve seen about the horrors Germany committed. Their souls wanted to go, they knew they had no future, etc. Meanwhile these same people will mock religion while creating a new one.

These are the same people that say “You value your property more than the life of the person taking it” instead of “The person taking my stuff values my property more than their life”. It twists responsibility onto the victim instead of the person victimizing.

@voomvoom4522 Women evolving to be best suited for child rearing and men forming culture around the protection of women being the ones that can give birth and necessary for survival isn’t genetics influencing culture? I understand the knee jerk reaction but it destroys science out of this desire to be PC. How other people choose to twist knowledge doesn’t make having the knowledge bad.

Again these people don’t take what they’re proposing to it’s logical conclusion. That’s the problem with these philosophers. They seem to think philosophy means throwing logic out the window.

@Friggsdottir They we’re led to believe absurdities. I guess we should ignore history to protect you from offense. I notice you didn’t attempt to defend the other atrocities committed by other groups. Why is that? Every single group listed loved their country so that’s completely irrelevant to the actions committed as a result.

It’s horrible. Even when it’s one you really didn’t want. I had 2 as a teenager. That I still remember them speaks volumes about it. Edit: The only good thing was because of them when I got pregnant after getting married (or the day before) it gave my doctor a heads up to watch for complications very early in the pregnancy. That helped save my 25 year old son. The issue was found early and precautions were taken to help prevent it.
6
@racheljames7 My 25 and 24 year old sons are too. As are all their friends except 1. It’s why I don’t believe the hype. It’s obviously women are more susceptible to this and more and more of them are also rejecting it.
5
@deleted01 Then obviously they shouldn’t exist ever. Whoops! End of the species. Oh look! They DO have “value”.

@DevastationMtrsports Things are not real just because you believe they are. That means there’s no such thing as hallucinations (which we can scientifically prove happen) and schizophrenia isn’t a mental illness. I’m seriously curious if people like you ever think beyond the single thing they want to be true to see and understand the full implications of what you’re saying.

It was never that. It’s equality under the law. That’s even expressly stated. Equality by the government. It’s pretty clear in the Constitution since the document is just about government. It’s why they slowly shifted to equity. Now you hear equity instead of equality. Equity is equal outcome. Equality isn’t.

I’m the opposite. I moved from a black majority town to Oklahoma and never felt so comfortable in my life. I’m Native and yt and now surrounded by both.
3
Yes. I’m one of them.

@totallynottitan126 As a nihilist from the 80s, it’s not new. Most people in my generation went through it. It’s why we partied so hard. We didn’t expect to live very long and had no expectations of having any impact on the world. What I took from it wasn’t to become psychopathic. Instead it was yes I’m tiny in the grand scheme of things. That means the only things I can have a lasting impact on are those around me. The other tiny, insignificant beings. So instead of becoming destructive I did the opposite and focused on how I treat those closest to me so that my impact is huge to them. When I’m gone, I will leave a huge mark for such a tiny insignificant part of the universe. That huge mark will be carried on by those close to me that saw the impact of what I did to those around me and chose to in some small way have a similar impact. It’s all about understanding what you can and can’t control and reconciling that.

@xX_Kino_Xx If just doing whatever I want to make me happy is the only moral, then absolutely nothing beyond that in your long winded attempt to justify your position matters nor does it belong in anything beyond yourself. You’re attempting to decide what makes others “happy” based on your own idea of it. You can’t even explain what happy is because it’s just an emotion. It’s not an achievable state of being because like all emotions it’s controllable and involves choices. Conscious choices. I’m not sure why people seem to believe suddenly that emotions are this uncontrollable force. They aren’t. Every single emotion is controllable with enough practice and effort. If all I’m supposed to do is make myself “happy” than what makes me happy could be something extremely destructive to everyone else and according to you, that’s perfectly fine and moral. Morals are ethics. They are a set of guidelines decided on and enforced by a society and culture. They are based on what is most beneficial to that culture and society. They have nothing to do with the individual’s desires and in fact often go against them for the betterment of society. Edit: Even before civilization existed we had societies. Small societies, but they still existed because we are social animals. Groups animals. Just like every animal we adopt what’s most beneficial to the species survival. That’s what morals are based on and why they change overtime. What’s beneficial to my survival based on my limited knowledge during prehistoric times is completely different than what’s most beneficial to our survival as a species today. If I steal from my neighbor, it’s very likely to shorten my life and harm society. Therefore it’s not a moral good. It’s really not that complicated. You’re personal anything has no bearing on what’s morally acceptable in a society.

It was seriously disgusting and a prime example of circular logic and thinking.
2
The problem is we’ve lost the understanding of what that means. It doesn’t mean we’re blank slats. It’s means we’re equal in the eyes of God and government. We’re seen equal in how laws will apply and what rights we’re endowed with. That’s it. They’re currently attempting to apply it to mean equal outcomes or equity which was never ever promised.
2
If you don’t serve in the armed forces should you be entitled to the benefits as if you did? This is what you’re saying. My dog who hasn’t been through years of training, doesn’t serve the public, and just hangs out should have the same benefit as one that is all those things.
2
It’s a small percentage which is hopeful. Online they quickly can appear much larger.
2
Equality was never in outcomes. It’s always been under the law. Equal under the law and/or government. It’s why now you hear equity instead of equality. They want to replace the under the law part and move it to outcomes. Unfortunately for them equality is what’s clearly stated in every law. Not equity.
2
@Charles.Wright Yes. When you no longer have something outside yourself to base your morals on they’re based on yourself alone. You’re now the god deciding for everyone else. I guess all those enlightened atheist claiming they don’t need religion to be moral have been proven wrong. If only they’d been warned.
2
They never were. We only are under the law. Everything else is up to us.
2
@DevastationMtrsports Things are not real just because someone believes they are. If that’s true then schizophrenia isn’t a mental disorder and there’s no such thing as hallucinations. You can not manifest reality. No, people on the internet are not real life. They can eventually move into real life, I should know I met my husband on it. If I tell you I’m a 20 year old male that doesn’t magically make it true or reality.

Oh no! YouTube errored my comment. Hmmm now for creative writing and coded bs because it was a really great comment. The reasons for the topic is the lack of things to prevent pregnancy and deal with one’s that are the result on people being victimized. The first reason was solved by technology decades ago with birth control. The second with other medication that prevent it implanting. Meaning the only current reason is medical emergencies. Since technology did what technology is supposed to do there is no longer any moral or ethical reason for it outside emergencies. Therefore it should no longer be a thing outside that very limited medical reason. Edit: Before somebody goes “it’s not 100%”. Nothing is. We don’t base anything on outliers. Seat belts don’t save you 100% and can very rarely cause death. So should we remove all requirements based on the very rare occurrence?
1
@MCC17011 Truth but the real problem with that group is they don’t believe in truth. They don’t believe in objective reality. Everything is a social construct. Meaning the science that they use to argue they don’t even believe. It’s just a useful tool.
1
So you want to what? Attempt to selectively target those that do? How? We can’t read their minds. We can’t even communicate with them. So we hope by the time we’re able to there’s a human left that can deal with them? Edit: What about the humans right to life? Screw that?
1
@MCC17011 ummm the right is already liberal. I don’t even remotely understand what you’re attempting to say. Are you one of these that believes the “right” is the Austrian with the funny mustache? Conservatives, the right, conserve societal norms and culture which is liberalism.
1
This! At no point did anyone believe everyone is magically equal. Equal in the eyes of the government. Everything is about government not individuals. Even when it does come to the individual it’s about government not stifling the individual where they intersect while still maintaining society. Even in regards to the Civil Rights Act, it’s because government created different laws for different groups. It’s still all about government.
1
I may not like his attitude all the time, but there’s little doubt James is an absolute expert at this point in it. It also makes no sense that abandoning liberalism will somehow make Communism disappear. It’s there, it exists. It’s been used to displace every other form of government so then every form causes it by that reasoning.
1
@hohenzollern6025 If you want that the Middle East is ready when you are. Monarchy combined with religion. Perfect according to you.
1
@AverageAlien Yes. Liberalism has created the greatest advancement ever seen in history. In all areas. Wanting to just toss it aside because some idiots decided to undermine it is ridiculous. Nothing the far left says is liberal. It’s anti liberal. It’s why they changed from equality to equity. They do not mean the same thing and ignoring that and putting equality where they use equity is just as underhanded a tactic.
1
@Archmage9885 He’s read Locke and all those. Liberalism has obviously adapted and changed since it’s first conception back then. Plus he’s under the belief that ideas like Communism can’t exist without liberalism. The problem with that is that might have prevented it but it’s not going to disappear if liberalism does. We just lose how to fight against it.

@Friggsdottir Pretty much it. Technology and medicine have advanced to treat every other one. They like to bring up preeclampsia except the cure is giving birth. Ending the baby doesn’t stop it. They still have to give birth to it. So if the baby is alive or already ended is irrelevant. Meaning ending it isn’t part of the discussion at all in medical terms. Edit: I had it with both my pregnancies. Doing that wasn’t once brought up from a doctor. So it’s a ridiculous argument on its face and is only made from a non medical perspective.
