@StimParavane I like the story of the guy who stole the secret to making purple dye. He barely escaped with his life.

@severian1968 That was the first pizza. Every culture has a type of bread with something on it if that's what you're attempting to say was pizza before that. He invented it and he named it.

They're aware of that. They did create their own varieties. Any pasta recipe that uses olive oil or butter and herbs are the oldest Italian recipes.

@ThingsThatIDo Everything comes from them. Our laws, too. It's why in Supreme Court decisions, you'll see them site going back to English common law. The recent Roe V Wade decision is an example of that. The only thing really different is we replace our king every 4 years. Even Congress until how the Senate was chosen was changed. It was our House of Lords because they were sent by the state legislature to represent the state's interest.

What you're talking about is individual enjoyment of other cultures. What Carl is talking about is a attempt to remove or degrade the culture by institutions and the government. A nation must have a unifying culture. It will change over time, but that's done by the people in it by choice and not forced upon them. The only time that's occurred throughout history is when a nation has been conquered by a nation with a different culture. I agree 100% that individuals should be able to enjoy aspects of another culture freely. The clothing, food, style, etc. I also agree with Carl that a nation shouldn't be told by its institutions that it's culture isn't it's own and act like a conquered nation.

@UnkownSoldier100 As a southerner I concur. I also drink hot tea in the morning because I don't like coffee.

I'm glad you pointed out these are blood and soil arguments they're making. Yet, they'll freak out if they sense even a wiff of it from the other political side. The goofy land acknowledgments that they do on the West coast and Canada are also blood and soil. Same for "stolen land." It seems blood and soil can only be used to attack a nation or culture. People need to start pointing it out. It'll freak out some of the normies who only know it's bad.

I remember that clip. That was wild.

@jimtaylor294 He's arguing against a point that wasn't made. Nobody said tea ONLY comes from India. The video from the BBC for children made the claim it originated in India, which it didn't. I can get potatoes from Ireland, even though they originated in South America. Having something imported today has nothing to do with where it originated from. That video is talking about how nothing originated in Britain so it's not British.
