@terywetherlow7970 Yes nuclear sites have to be near large amounts of water because the water is needed to convert to steam for power. Every major power source is close to water for the same reason. Natural gas heats the water, creating steam, the steam turns the turbines which generates electricity.

@ReformedSauron Nobody gave an order for it to be burned. It combusted according to people on site. The local fire department was dispatched and put water on it which is the wrong way to do it. Safety got on site quickly and then extinguish the fire by smothering it with dirt. Federally railroads are regulated, but they are not under the control of the federal government unless it's one of the very few that fall under ownership by the government. Most are privately owned, as was this one. Rail workers from one of the big companies were about to go on strike. The federal government intervened because it would cause widespread economic problems, not because they have any type of power over the workers.
