Unfortunately I've seen so many people trying to claim that because Twitter said no sometimes it means it wasn't a violation of the first amendment. That's like saying the mafia didn't commit a crime because a business said no to "protection" once. I guess the White house publicly threatening these companies as time went on wasn't because they kept saying no.

The problem with bringing up Trump in regard to this case is he created the department that did it. He was the one that really started this ball rolling.

The drinking age was addressed at the time. Since then they've tried to use school funding to force through somethings which the court said no on because it was clearly a matter that should be left to the state. The difference is the drinking age was legislation passed by Congress making it a federal law and states have to follow federal law. The executive using regulations to go around Congress to exert it's will onto the states, such as demanding unisex bathrooms in schools, isn't allowed.

@uptoolate2793 No it's not. Biden represents the federal government as President. It's state government vs federal government. It's Biden instead of US or FBI because it was his signature that allowed the expansion of what Trump (unfortunately) first set up. Other states can join the case, but the primary complainant is Missouri. States will pick these up to protect their citizens because a case brought by a state against another state or against the federal government gets fast tracked through the courts. Where as a case involving just a citizen will take years. The case with the cake maker took 10 years. This one just took months. Edit: The reason a state can make this type of case is that the actions of the federal government violated the state Constitution which gives the state jurisdiction to file it. I also believe members of Missouri's Congress or people within the state's administration were silenced as well.

The reason criminal cases can drag out for years is because people sign away their right to a speedy trail. Defense attorneys will tell you they need time to gather evidence and prepare your case and ask that you waive your right to a speedy trial to allow them time to do so. You're also allowing the state time to build it's case so choose wisely if you're presented with that.

Yes welcome to the responsibility of being a citizen. The Founders warned that we'd have to be vigilant because the nature of government is tyranny. They made it clear it's ours if we can keep it.
