  1. My husband works in the oil industry. The diesel "shortage" is because we're shipping a lot more of it outside the US. Driving the price up because there's less domestic product. Like everything else, it's a manufactured crisis. As for having to cut back, we're in the top 10% and are having to cut back. Luckily I'm used to being poor so I'll easily navigate through this. It is disappointing to finally reach this level only to not live much differently.
