I think DeSantis got exposed. Which honestly I'm glad it happened now before 2028. It looks like he wasn't the one behind a lot of the stuff he takes credit for. It appears most of his good decisions were coming from the legislature instead of him and he just took credit. I do know a lot of his culture war talking points came from his wife who was the one that paid attention to it. Maybe now that she's got more important personal things to deal with he's listening to the wrong people on it.

I was raised that you don't talk politics or religion in polite company. Those two subjects always cause disagreements so it's best to just avoid them.

@thilli1859 They just did. He signed a "hate speech" law.

No he didn't. WTF? Florida may not support him for President, but they're not going to switch parties over it. They'll just not vote for him. He can't run for governor again anyway.

@williamnicholson8133 Primaries have nothing to do with laws. They're completely handled and the rules created by the party. It's not a vote for a public office yet so voting laws are irrelevant. Unless they've changed the rules in how they do the primary votes, this is false. The Democrats absolutely can because they give a huge number of votes to individuals that can completely change the votes of the people. Republicans don't have that. They'd have to not allow him on the Republican primary ticket.

They could only do that at the primary ticket. That's the only one they control. Once the person receives the nomination, there's no going back because federal laws kick in at that point. A lot of Republicans maybe just as dirty as Democrats, but their primary bylaws allow the voters to decide unlike Democrats which have the super delegates that have enough power to change the candidate regardless of what the majority want.
