Oooo that's not good.

Someone said the Zulu crossed into the area in 1790. The white people (Dutch, German, and French) arrived in 1652 with the East India Trading Company.

@JAG8691 That's cool and all, but has no baring on what happened more recently. They were abandoned meaning they failed to thrive and have zero claim to the land 3000 years later. The reason I'm noting it's not relevant is because people will take that information and use it to claim they were indeed native to that area and it was "stolen". Just like the idiots that claim because a small group arrived in the Americas before the current native population in an area they are the "real" natives even though they only lasted 100 years.

Interesting since several South Africans have commented on how accurate he was.

He's referring to people claiming the English and it's descendants colonized North America. They say to decolonize everything here, when we didn't colonize most it. It was colonized before we purchased most if it.

The fertile crescent is where humankind originated. Just because a group attempted to live in an area doesn't make it "theirs". The deciding factor is if the succeed and held onto the area. There were attempted settlements over 3,000 years ago, but they were abandoned. If you haven't lived in an area for 3,000 years, it doesn't "belong" to you. My tribe conquered other tribes and took their land. Should we give it back even though we're all the same race or is it just the race of the people that managed to tame it and succeed that's your problem?

I'm Native. We're still here. If they wanted to genocide us they wouldn't have given us our own sovereign territory within the country they control. Stop the noble savage nonsense. We were killing and enslaving each other. We went to war against the settlers and lost, others traded away their areas, others willingly resettled elsewhere, and a few were forced to resettle elsewhere when they could have just killed them. How can you say genocide when we're still here and they could have destroyed us at anytime? When Rome invaded areas of Europe that was still tribal and conquered them, killing and enslaving many, was that genocide? Or is it only genocide if when the same thing happens to people with different colored skin? Did you know that a lot of tribes when they'd conquer another tribe killed all the men and took the women? Were we committing genocide against ourselves? Where the Aztec, who hunted other tribes down and used them for human sacrifices committing genocide?

Not in South Africa. The laws there are not the laws here. For example, you can't own a business if you're white without a black co-owner. A lawyer won't help you.

What? The Confederate flag aka the regiment battle flag aka the Rebel flag had nothing to do with committing genocide or killing anyone based on race or anything else. It was so the regiment could see where they were on a battlefield.
