Basically this is Desantis's first real test to see if he'll stand against the establishment. So far he's failed miserably. He appears to be saying he won't prevent extradition of a political prosecution by another state of a citizen of Florida. Add in the delayed response and it's almost like he was waiting to be told what he should do by certain groups that filled his war chest at the expense of seats in Congress.

@ericwillison4011 You've got states like California and Vermont saying they won't allow anyone that brings their child there for "affirmative care" get extricated by their home state to face charges of child abuse or kidnapping. Then you've got DeSantis saying clearly he won't protect one of the citizens of his state from clearly malicious prostitution and it just so happens that citizen is a potential political rival. It's a bad look anyway you attempt to slice it.

@j0n.p How is it flawed? Trump is a citizen of Florida. DeSantis said he won't get involved, as in he won't try to prevent extradition if Trump is indicted. It's a malicious prostitution and politically motivated. Not protecting one of your citizens from that isn't a good look. The fact that they're a potential political adversary in an upcoming primary makes it look even worse. At best, DeSantis is saying publicly he won't protect his citizens from malicious prostitution from another state. At worst, DeSantis is saying he's just as politically dirty as every other politician and will ignore corruption if it's politically advantageous. Basically DeSantis will grandstand on certain cultural issues that he knows aren't popular in the first place, but he won't stand against the establishment.
