  1. I imagine it's because this is the second time fairly recently. They probably think the first one that was covered pretty heavily caused this one. That one the press was more interested in blaming evil right wingers than if it would give other people ideas.

  2. We just had solar power installed. Our electricity usage is on the high side because of the inground pool and 4 out of 5 people having decent gaming computers. It was $60,000 for everything and that will cover our entire $500+ a month electricity usage plus 5% extra in case we add anything. So you could figure almost half that for most people. A battery costs $20,000 which we did not add right now, but will when prices drop. Until then we'll use a little cheap generator to power the converter so we'll still have power if it goes out. We financed it so our "new" electricity bill (which is the payment for the system) is locked in at $230 per month for 20 years. And the power company pays us for any extra we produce which in the winter is a lot. It won't quite pay for itself, but almost and it's way cheaper than what were paying and will be paying in the future as energy costs continue to rise.
