No because she wasn't native to the region at all. Nubians were natives of the region. That Egyptian dynasty was Greek. They lived in and were educated in Greece. Cleopatra was the first to even be able to speak Egyptian. I'm fairly certain Rome was well aware of what family Egypts rulers were since they didn't only rule Egypt.

The problem with using rulers DNA to define the makeup of the area is that Egypt was constantly being taken over. The rulers weren't the same as the people that resided in the area except in the earliest dynasties. Saying there were people from multiple places in Egypt also isn't some grand discovery since it was a major trading hub between Europe and other parts of the world. There's a reason all the world's knowledge was stored in Alexandria. DNA shows that native Egyptians (called Nubian) most likely looked like people found in Iraq today.

This myth began because the 25th dynasty was black. They were invaders who were helped by the religious leaders to take over because religion wasn't being practiced as much and they were losing power. So because there is a small number of hieroglyphs depicting them, it was used to claim that as tombs were uncovered by white archaeologists they painted over the other hieroglyphs to claim Egyptian history as white. I wish I was kidding. I guess just ignore that they aren't depicted as white but as a brown color. Netflix race swapping Cleopatra is extremely ignorant because it will only keep that myth alive. These beliefs are spread among black supremacist groups like Nation of Islam and the Black Hebrews.

No she wasn't. There was no need for a digital recreation because we have images of her on coins outside of Egypt. She wouldn't be considered beautiful by today's standards. She wasn't considered beautiful at that time. Ceasar makes it clear it's her mind he found attractive, not her looks. Whoever you're promoting shouldn't be because it's clearly a scam. Edit: If anyone uses Egyptian images in an attempt to get the "real" image of it's rulers, they're very ignorant of Egypt or intentionally scamming people. It's well known that those images don't really resemble them at all. We know that because Tuts father insisted his images show him as he was in real life. Only a couple remain because his name was stricken from the record and images smashed. He was potbellied with elongated arms and misshapen from inbreeding.

Unfortunately people insist on continuing this myth which makes it matter. If you don't keep the record straight on this they'll believe the rest of it too.

Judging by her image on coins from other areas, it's possible. Her images from Egypt versus her Greek images show just how different Egyptian rulers were depicted in images versus how they looked in real life.

@chukwuemekaanyimukwu7312 No they weren't. They would look like people that live in Iraq today and they're not black. We have DNA. We know what they were. They're still pretty much exactly like they were back then and it's still not black. The 25th dynasty was black but that was because they conquered Egypt with the help of the priests. That didn't magically make all the Egyptian people become black. You watched a fraudulent show and will now ignore the hundreds of other documentaries that say they weren't. Why? Why would hundreds of documentaries, many done by people from region, be lying? Logic says the one claiming the opposite of the hundreds well resourced and researched offical documentaries is clearly the lie.

That's pretty much impossible since he had no children and his father was pretty much erased from history. All these incredibly stupid claims in this comment section. Let me guess, it's because Nefertiti was related to an ancient Irish queen?

I've tried the argument that I'm pretty sure they knew what color they were and painted themselves that way. The counter is that white archaeologists painted over them to make them white instead of black. I wish I was joking. All of this because the 25th dynasty was black.

No she doesn't. The Nubians were the 25th dynasty. Cleopatra was the 30th and she was 300 years after that dynasty began. They didn't marry into becoming rulers, they conquered it hundreds of years after the 25th dynasty. There would be zero Nubian DNA in her profile. Jesus. They also didn't have a daughter. She gave birth to a son by Anthony who was killed. There's zero record of another child.
